JOSE MENCHACA, ASSISTANT WARDEN

Assistant Warden Jose Menchaca began his career with the Lake County Sheriff’s Department in 2004.  In 2012 he was promoted to Corporal then achieved the rank of Sergeant in the Classification department and was appointed Commander of the Special Operations Response Team.  In February of 2014 Jose was appointed Deputy Warden of Operations. Jose has also served as Sergeant in Food Services and the Mental Health unit. 

Raised in East Chicago until high school, Jose graduated from Lake Central in 1995 and went on to study Criminal Justice at Purdue University Northwest.
